Maple Glazed Carrots
This sweet glaze is so appetizing on carrots!
~ Gluten & Dairy Free ~
6 large whole carrots
2 tbsp dairy-free butter
1/3 cup pure maple syrup
1/4 tsp black pepper
Dash sea salt or Himalayan salt
1) Wash and cut carrots into matchsticks.
2) In a medium-sized pot, bring carrots to a boil and let cook until tender. They should be cooked in about 10 minutes.
3) To make the glaze, use a small saucepan. On medium heat melt dairy-free butter, then add maple syrup, pepper and sea salt into the pot. Bring sauce to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 5 minutes, until the sauce begins to thicken. Remove from heat and let the sauce sit for a minute so it can thicken.
4) Pour glaze over the cooked carrots.
